Since
  Fall 2010, I am back in Sofia, BG after 5 years in Prague, CZ. I am now a senior
  assistant professor of Economics at the University of National and World
  Economy in Sofia, Bulgaria (<a href="http://www.unwe.bg" target="_blank">UNWE</a>).
  I got my Economics PhD from the Center for Economic Research and Graduate
  Education – Economics Institute (<a href="http://www.cerge-ei.cz"
  target="_blank">CERGE-EI</a>), Prague, Czech Republic. I've got another Ph.D.
  in Political Economy from the UNWE, and an MA degree in Economics from
  CERGE-EI. My Economics dissertation title is <i>Empirical Essays on Crises, Reforms and Growth</i>.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<P>Before Prague, I was a researcher at one of
  the leading Bulgarian analytical think-tanks – the Center for Economic
  Development (<a href="http://www.ced.bg" target="_blank">CED</a>) in Sofia,
  Bulgaria, while at the same time working on my Ph.D. thesis at the <a href="http://www.unwe.acad.bg"
  target="_blank">UNWE</a>. I defended the <a
  href="papers/Stankov_Disertaciq_20090510.pdf"><i>Origin and Development of
  the New Private Property in CEE after 1989</i></a> in 2009. 

<P>I enjoy making progress with my students and research, still more than my leisure. </p>
